how to generate a temporary file at sever then send it to client?

for example, when the client click a hyper_link, then the server
generate a temporary m3u file and send it to the client, and after sending the file the server delete the m3u file.

the problem is, how I can generate that file, and how I can send the file to the client?

Frankly, once you've got the data, you don't need to make a file out of it; just send them the data and tell them it's a file - they won't know any different.
