Layout Question

Hey everyone, I'm making a website and I want to have left, right, and top navigation bars. I dont want to use frames but I want all 3 of them to be loaded from a seperate page (and then have one with the site content loaded seperately too). I heard you can do this with php but I've never done php and I can't find out how to do this. any help would be appreciated 🙂 thanks

"Seperate page" just means individual scripts for each section, right?

If so, use includes:

I think thats what I'm talking about. Take a look at www.ign.com. You see how they have the left and top navigational bars (both of which stay static and never changes )? And then how the content is put in the middle (this changes whenever a surfer clicks on one of the links on the top or left bar)? Thats what I want to do. Also, I havent signed up with a host yet because I want to build the site first, so how would I go about writing and testing the php on my localhost? thanks again.

Well, they are using more than just serverside includes. What you are decribing is done via clientside DHTML. Google msdn and/or netscape dev for more information on this.
