I volunteered to set up a site for a local church and now with all kinds of requests coming in, I’m thinking boy did I make a wrong move: Just kiddin’.

Here’s my problem scenario so please give your responses and supports coz I can use it all.

The staff wants to just upload a word doc. and not to worry about anything else. Partially, I’m Okay with that. I found a php script that converts doc to html. The trouble is how do I detect to see when the new file was uploaded so the transformer can kick in and do its job. Also once the html file is generated I need to insert link(s) in there.

Keep in mid there’s no database in the picture and I'm a PHP beginner. Snippets would greatly be helpful and appreciated.

as far as i know, there isn't a way to automatically insert links around some text without there being some kind of tag around it already (like html) so that a function reading the html string-by-string can tell whether or not to link it.

i could be mistaken, though 🙁

Actually, the problem is much simpler than that. I just had to think from inside the box.

I can just use a php page as a template and use the include function to embed any document inside .php file.

Lemme know if I'm off on this.

but you still want to link specific lines inside the .doc file?

If I can, I prefer to do so. If not, I just have to ask the folks to do it in the origianl doc. I'm not gonna spend days and nights figuring this thing out.
