username information using .htaccess and .htpasswd

Hello All,
On my site I have made it so that to access a page someone has to logon using .htaccess and .htpasswd files. Now that all works fine, but I want to display certain information for certain users. So what I need to do is once the user has logged on I need to get the username they logged in with so I can change the content to suit. Can anyone help with that part?
