sessions failing in xp/N6

I posted the code yesterday and got no response (assuming that's good), so let me simplify my question:

I have a sessions script that is working for users on Win98 & mac, IE & N6. With cookies on and off. Trans_id is on.

But ultimately with the client, it is failing. She is using XP/N6. I am not sure if she has cookies on or off, but it should not matter at this point.

The Question: What could lead to session failure on her end when as far as I understand it, I've taken everything out of the browsers control. If it works in all the other situation, it MUST work on her machine bearing in mind she's using XP/N6. Or is there some weird XP setting from hell that I am unaware of?

ANY ideas???

I encountered a similar problem on my friend's comupter and he was using IE 6 on XP. He had his security level set to high and that was the reason my script was not working on his machine. So it's worth a try to reset your client's web browser setting to normal or to default. If it doesn't work then tell her to upgrade her NS to the newest one. NS 7 is much better than NS 6 (on both Mac and Windows).

I really don't understand why the security setting on client side matters when PHP is running on the host and not theirs (and not dealing with any cookies).

Um, because sessions use cookies? If the browser isn't accepting cookies, the session ID will have to be passed in the URL.

Well if trans_id is enabled on the server, then does the setting on the client side still matter? (I haven't tried it out so I can't tell)

One thing I have to ask is if the session-handling has been confirmed to be the problem. A test case

This would be a good case study to find out how trans_id and cookie setting in PHP.INI and browser setting on the client side affect the actual session process....
