Would preg_replace do the job?

HEy all,

How would I replace all the backslashes in a link. For example I would like to convert say:

http:\www.phpbuilder.com\board\jack.php

to

http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/jack.php

What would I use to do this and how would I do it. The link will be in a variable. e.g. $link1

If there are no special restrictions, then [man]str_replace/man would be better.
