Database alternatives help

Hi all,
I have a database program that I built that adds, deletes, updates and displays records. A client wants somthing that does this but without a database. All she wants is to manage links (add, delete, update and display) that point to their associated server local directories containing flash files.

What would be the most effective and time efficient method of doing this without a DB?

I studied a little about serializing a class, but that seems kind of complex. Mabey Im wrong.

This occurs to me; mean a minimum of rewriting on your part, and a minimum of rewriting later on when the client decides that a database would be a good idea after all.
