[Resolved] BBS refresh code

Right all, Now I know your all gunna tell me to use javascript but heres the thing. The project i'm working on needs to be entirely server-side code. Now the problem I have is I have a bottom frame for my users to input there messages. what I want is for when they hit the post button it refreshes the main frame with focus on what they've added and no matter how hard I look i can't figure out a way to do it. everything else I have written with php. the site is at NickSpace BBS I hope someone can help me here.

Maybe I don't fully understand, but I think you're going to have to submit the form data back to the page that draws the frames and have that page refresh/redraw all the frame windows. Which isn't overly efficient since the browser has to redraw the two frames and the content that goes in them (somewhat defeating the purpose of the frames).

Otherwise, yes - JavaScript would make it a lot easier, especially with frames.

yeah but when i reload the original page that has the framest in it. it only seems to relaod the bottom frame because thats where i posted it from. it doesn't make sense to me but thats what it does

Yeah... You'll need to put in your form tag an extra parameter that says target="parent". That may do it...

the problem is u have to frames! on the web page the top one is not refreshing with the bottem one im not sure how to solve this
