In my query I have

AVG(npts/play) as apts FROM stats

In my code I have

// PLAYER Points
$apts = mysql_result ($pts,0,'apts');
echo('<td align="center">'.$apts.'</td>');

Result is

17.500000

Looks like I would use

ROUND(X,D)

How woudl I write it?

Now the problem is that some are at whole numbers and I want 1 decimal place.

17.5
18.0
1.0

Or how about just using number_format()?

It's a case of '6 and 2 3s' really. printf's my personal choice so it sprang to mind.

It also looks a touch neater IMO, especially when you're dealing with multiple vars in one string.

I did not know there was other replies as I just got my first email in the last hour.

What I went with that works is

echo ('<td align="center">'.number_format(round($stat['apts'], 2),1).'</td>');

I will try the other just to see.

Just to add, I am new to PHP. Actullay just started messing with it in the past 30 days. I barely know HTML. I have never learned any computer languages. So I wing it. One thing I noticed is that it is a lot like spreadsheets when you are doing arithmatic problems.

So, I have really done a lot for not know what i am doing.
