Changing DocumentRoot

I recently installed Mandrake 9.0. I want to move my document root (for apache) to the folder on my computer called /B-Heard/Webroot (its a personal site) rather than /var/www/html.

I changed my httpd.conf and set my DocumentRoot to /B-Heard/Webroot and restarted the server, but whenever I try to view the files by going to localhost I get a 403 Forbidden error. Apart from the DocumentRoot, what else do I need to change in order for it to work?

You need to give permissions to the Apache user to run there. You could chmod to give it the correct permissions, or add Apache user to the group that owns the folder. The usual apache user I think is set to "nobody".
