adding Numbers autoly.

I have been trying to desing a game, text based, using php and mysql, im trying to make it as automatic as i know, So i was wondering.

im setting up the page, so that a member can only view a page once every 24 hours, I want to set it up, so that when They submit that page, It adds so much to Their profile...so basicly

Say, there profile says they have 200 of something, i want it so that after they submit a certain page it automaticly adds 600 to that making it 800 in their profile.

Well, if you know what you want to add, you can just add it in the SQL.

UPDATE table
SET    field = (field + 200)

Or something like that

ok, I added that, and it still dosent work, do i have to change the input value of the text box to something before...or...am i doing something wrong?

well, i just found the answer. I wasnt thinking right eralier, then when I looked at the code in notepad, i seen my mistake. ill put the code up anyway though.

Ok, I have it down, so now, It will add 600, or 10 or what ever i put, but how do i add so much %. say i want to add 10%.....when i put +10% it dosent work.

multiply by 1.1 or whatever the percentage is (1+the percentage)

Ok, This will be my last question concerining this topic. I got it all working fine, it multiplys corectly, and adds, just like it should.

this is actualy more of two questions. the first is the one i care most about. it mulitplys to the exact. decimal an all. like "9.621817911" It shows alot more then I like is there a way i can force it to round up. or not show all the numbers to the right, i want it to show all the numbers to the left of the decimal. i dont mind a few to the right, but i dont want it to show all to the right. example. 10000.03 is fine. but 10000.03322424321567 is less liked. The other question is. say i have two collums, name T1, and T2. is it possible to make it so that, ever time T1 gains...say 60 then T2 automaticly goes up 10.....?

use the [man]number_format[/man] function to show the 1.numbers as you like them

MySql does not support triggers. this will have to be built into the application code itself
