I have created a script for a shopping cart solutions that will send me and email when an order is placed with basic details and the customer confirming their order with the basic order info they placed.

It will only send me the message it will not send the message to the customer who ordered a product. If someone within our organization places and order ie mydomain.com they will get the email as being a customer. if the customers email is not my domain ie notmydomain.com then the email will not make it to them.

What setting(s) either with my smtp server or php do i have that would not send to a user outside my network?

note: the from email address is a valid email address within my network.

Any Help would be great.

Hi,

I suppose you ask the user for an email?
THen just explode() the email by the @ and match the resulting domain against your domain. In the code you can then select which persons are supposed to get email, and which not.

Hello again... let me clearify.

I have a shopping cart where the final step is creating an invoice to be displayed in the browser for the user to be able to print off for their records.

my example domain name is www.shopping.com

in the background i have created a script to email myself about the order so i know an order has been placed and my email address is [e-mail] ... i always get the email my address is within the network.

I also want the invoice email mailed to the customer who's adress may be [e-mail] but the system doesnt seem to send the email to them because they are outside my network.

the thing works they way i want if someone within my organizations places an order... say [e-mail].... she gets a copy of the invoice as do i as i want one to know an order has been placed.

the from address of the email is [e-mail] which is a valid email address for my network and should be allowed to relay email.

any more ideas?
