without php extension

Hi
I would like to make a file without php extension,
At the moment the URL like this

http://www.mydomain.com/script.php/param
the URL is not friendly for users so I want to create URL without .php http://www.mydomain.com/script/param ..

Can anyone please explain how to do that ?
