OT: Where's a good audiophile board??

I am in desperate need of some audiophile expertise.. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why my MP3's (or an audio cd played in the cd drive) "skip" on my computer. But when I burn them and listen to them in my car, they sound fine.

I thought there may be a driver conflicting, so I wiped my computer clean, fresh version of Win2k, installed my SoundBlaster Driver (from their site) installed winamp, and still skipped. I have a dual Athlon 1200 with a gig of ECC PC2100 ram.. ahhh this is driving me nutso.

Easy tiger! The point of the EL is so anthing that might be considered OT on another board can be posted here.
