Quick question - how to get rid of pointless error message?

Hi,
This is a real quick question.

<?php $route = 'http://URL;
include $route . "/postuserview.php?user=" . $author; ?>

Ok.

Basically... it does what it's supposed to. (includes the page to a certain variable from a variable defined on the current page) but I keep getting this error :

Warning: main(): stream does not support seeking in /home/hitoshi/public_html/testerview.php on line 3

before it prints what it's supposed to.

Help plz?

just add @ before include
// i. @include ..........

But this is a not good practice to hide errors..

I don't know what's the error means..

IIRC, this was a somewhat controversial finding; in versions a few months ago, this error would unexpectedly pop up when include were called on certain files.

If you can, I'd either: include files with absolute rather then relative paths (is that how it went?) or upgrade to a newer version of PHP.

I'll see if I can find the bug report(s). Not that it was a bug, exactly ...

well I read up on php.net and aparently that wont work on older versions.. but I'm using a newer version (4.34) and I don't see what the problem could be! :S

Anyway, many thanks for the @include thing coz it worked. ^_
