very slow load times

hey everyone, I'm currently building my site using DHTML to display different objects (like a left and right navigation bar, top logo area, and then the content in the middle.) this way If i need to update them, I dont have to go to every page and do it manually, I just have to change one. Anyway, this method has made my site load incrediblly slow ( I think its because it downloads the DHTML objects EVERY time one of them is on a page, instead of taking it from the history.) I dont really have any php experience and I won't be able to test it until im done building my site ( Havent signed up for a host yet), but is there an easier way to do this with php so it won't load so slow? thanks. 🆒

DHTML is client-side, nothing to do with PHP.

You could possibly try caching the DHTML in files and loading them rather than generating them every time. Maybe not the right solution though.

hmm, I dunno if you understand what I'm gettin at. I basically want to use frames without having to use "frames" because people seem to dislike them for some reason. Like how at www.cnn.com theres that top bar with the logo and stuff that stays static and then the navigation bar at the left.

You can do this with php using include() or require(). Just build your menu in a seperate page, then include or require it. You can modify it at runtime by setting parameters based on the page, or variables set in the page including it to show custom menu items for that page.
