Design Process of New Website....bit o help please!!

Im creating a new database driven website for artists in the UK. It will be an online digital gallery where users can log on, browse and search through the images and when registered, they can leave comments on each image displayed.

I am not great at planning out databases...but would something like this work?

Anyone care to tell me if this would be ok.
Bearing in mind, i would like a list of comments stored by different users for each image....

any help is much appreciated.

i think to make this more work effectively with the comments you need a seperate table for comments

drop Comments from TABLE_IMAGES

and then create a table something like this

TABLE_COMMENTS
comment_id
comment
image_id
user_id

and then just use normal sql querys to get each comment for each specific image/user

yeh thanks man...was wondering wether comments would need another table...

If any one is interested im following the WSDM methodology.
I have chosen this over DSDM, RAD, XP, RMM, etc...

As its most suted to designing for your target audience.

Has any one ever followed this method?
Or does any one reccomend another good structured website design method..?

Just to enlighten anyone looking more on what my proposed website is to do....

Image Viewing Interface:

Images must be presented to the user in an effective and efficient way. Each image must be displayed in its correct section with its relevant details; Artist Name, Area and Date (stored in the database). This option will be made public so that registration will not be necessary.

Searches, Sorts and Filters:

All images and information will be stored in an online database. This will allow the addition of searching and sorting facilities, in order for the user to group the images according to certain criteria. E.g. Date, Artist Name and Area.

User Login:

In order to create a community and manage users throughout the website, Users must register in order to gain a valid username and password. When a user becomes registered, he/she can then Upload, Leave comments, use the E-commerce facilities and chat in the Forum. Additional information will also be taken via the registration form and uploaded to the database for use in the bibliography section (requirement 4).

Artist Bibliographies:
Each registered user will be automatically added to an A-Z list of artists. Users can then search for specific names and view information and images on their chosen artists.

Upload feature:

Users will be able to browse their own drives directly from the web interface and upload their chosen images directly to the website email address for reviewing.

User Comments:

Every image displayed on the website will have appropriate textual information stored with the image in the DB, Artist Name, Date and Area.
The addition of ‘user comments’ will also be added for each image. This will allow users to comment on and discuss each others work.

Forum/Chat:

A Forum or Chat Facility will be included in order for users to create discussions and interact.

E-Commerce:

Certain merchandise will be available to registered users. Users can login, browse through merchandise and follow online steps to add his/her items to a virtual shopping basket then proceed to the checkout.

ok so the requirements are vague at the moment.....but do you think that the proposed DB above should be able to make this work?? (accept for the shopping cart and forum)
