printing mailing labels

Someone asked me to set up their site such that they could, from any browser or computer, print their mailing labels form their website.

I suspect that this is more of an HTML thing than PHP. Selecting the data for display in a table seems the logical and simple answer however, I fear printing the results on sme avery labels is just not that simple.

Any tips, angles, references?

Have a look at the spec above, and the spec for TD and TR, and you'll see that you can specify table and column widths and row heights in centimetres.

if you wrote a table in html that took it's widths and heights from a php db, you could set a generic table that worked for different avery label specs - just read the measurements off the box (or measure it yourself) and run the script. You'll prob have to play around though - from memory i think the labels also have specific spacing between rows, etc etc
