eval

I have never used eval befor but believ this should work

$PHPrint = str_replace('<img src="inline/','<img src="$crumb[1]/$crumb[2]/inline/',$PHPrint);
eval ("\$PHPrint = \"$PHPrint\";");

however it does not. I ge a Parse error: and and img string with thevariables name in it.

help?

For the moment, use echo instead of eval and see exactly what it is you're trying to evaluate.

Not that I see the reason for you to do what you're doing - you're taking a string and replacing it with itself converted to a string?

im taking a string and adding a few variables(the vlaues off)

I get

<img src="$crumb[1]/$crumb[2]/inline/the_red_world.jpg" alt="Link to full size image -The Red World" width="150" ...

I want

<img src="art/inspired/inline/the_red_world.jpg" alt="Link to full size image -The Red World" width="150" ...

$crumb[1] =art
$crumb[2] =inspired

PHP will automaticly convert varaibles to their values inside of a string.

Thanks for trying, but if you look at my original post you will see that the substituion must be made inside a str_replace - that is what is causing the problem.

But why? What's wrong with

$PHPrint = str_replace('<img src="inline/',"<img src=\"$crumb[1]/$crumb[2]/inline/",$PHPrint);

The eval itself looks pointless.
