MySQL order by

Is it possible to change the order of ORDER BY?
I live in Norway and here the alphabeth goes from a-å (a-z + æ ø å).
If I ORDER BY a field with these letters it will return:

a, b, c... x, y, z, å, æ, ø

is it possible to change it to a,b,c...x,y,z,æ,ø,å?

or is there any other function I can use?

The most obvious way to do it is with a CASE function (it acts as a function that returns a value):

That gets clumsy when there are a lot of different values, but for just a few letters it should be okay.

select myfield from mytable
order by 
  case myfield 
    when 'å' then 'æ' 
    when 'æ' then 'ø'
    when 'ø' then 'å'
    else myfield
  end
