passing variables

I have code working on my desktop computer that passes variables from one script to another. I took the same exact code and put it on my laptop. According to the URL, the data was passed. It looks like this on both my desktop and laptop:

http://localhost/show_lights.php?catname=Low%20Voltage<BR>Bullet%20Lights&catid=1

The exact same URL is on my laptop. While the data was obviously passed, I can't address it and I can't figure out why.

All the versions are the same including Apache, PHP, IE, scripts and even my editor. LOL The only difference is that my desktop is running XP Professional and my laptop is running XP Home. I wouldn't think that would be a problem.

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

what do you mean you "cant address" it? You can print it out on the 2nd script? And also, how come in your variable you are passing a <br> which means linebreak?

No, I can't display it or use it to query the database in the second script.

As for the <BR> it's embedded in the field in the database so the field displays on two lines.

Like I said, it works perfect on my desktop.

I did have a funny thought while running though. This laptop is new and I haven't registered XP yet. I was wondering if Bill Gates somehow punishing me. LOL Just kidding.
