Reading line number..

Ok guys, I have a problem thinking of a php script...basically, I want to read a txt file, and be able to echo it so it has the line number, then the content on that line, so saying line 12 of my document said "hi everybody"

then the output of my echo on line 12 of the doc would say 12hi everybody....

I don't know why I don't understand and can't figure this out, but I just can't(NEW-b) 🙂 thanks guys

Given, you already know how to read the file into an array. Now when you loop through it, do this

$lines = files("somefile.txt");
for($i=0;$i<count($lines);$i++) {
   echo $i; //line number
   echo $lines[$i]."<br />"; // content
}

You know that thing you helped me with the other day? Well I had modified that and I was soo close to getting it right, but just couldn't get it..Atleast I was close...thanks man 🙂

much as i bow down to LordShryku, i think that line should read

$lines = file("somefile.txt");

ie file NOT files
