Hi there. I just started in this too, but i can recommend some good tactics. Dreamweaver, while not being the optimal PHP editor, at least takes the hassle out of your html if you don't really know it like a pro. Then, pick up some books. In the web development section of your barnes and noble or whatever will be books on PHP and PHP/MySQL. I like the Sam's Teach Yourself series, and the Oreilly series (which everyone tells me is great).
There's going to be too much to tell in a forum like this, but the books are usually very well written, and can at least get you to your first error messages. Once you have those, the people in the forums can help you troubleshoot.
