Dynamic page content

This is my situation,

I want to create a page which will display dynamic content on a page.

Basically, i have 5 different categorise. When i want to open a category 1, i want to call it using http://www.mysite.com/index.php?category=1

when i call it like that, i want the page to display contents according to the category i chosen.

so, if category 1 have 5 songs, i want to display all the 5 songs with their url.

I will be very greateful if any of you can help meon this.

have your code capture the varible you are passing in the URL... then use a mysql query to select all the songs from where the category matches the varible you passed.

isnt there any otehr way of doing it other than using a mysql database?

Sure, just a switch statement will do it.

if(isset($_GET['category'])) { // if category is in the URL
   switch($_GET['category']) {
      case "1":
         // display content for category 1
      break;
      case "2":
         // display content for category 2
      break;
      case "3":
         // display content for category 3
      break;
   }

else {
  // display default content
}

Hi Lordshryku,

How would I setup a link to use that statement?

One of my experiment sites is www.rb26.net - if I wanted to clean up my navigation using php etc, how would I go about it?
