[Resolved] Variable's echo'ing

been a few hours without me now so thought id be dim again.

Something as simple as variable echo'ing all would thought would be easy and probably is... where am i going wrong?

my url is

http://192.168.0.1/administrator/ordermanagement.php?ordernumber=HVG:2712032315-615014&username=PodMan99

which from what works so far sets the ordernumber variable and should set username however username is not set and remains blank.

here is the code which should add to the database

?>

the ordernumber is added to the database but the username is not created as a variable at all?? strange but true as with the $date it just does not seem to exist... what im doing wrong must be silly but i cant seem to figure it out.

Could be register_globals. Do you have that on or off?

register_globals is on and ive looked at some of the other options there and they are all set to what seems to be ok.

does that answer you gave state that the code is ok? if so then im gonna need to find another way to do it and have not got a clue... although i was lead to believe that it would due to testing which i have performed with ?varname=&varname=

how comes the date var is not created in my script. i would have thourght that that one would work.?😕

Have you ensured the GET variables are being passed correctly? Echo them out.
Note you should be using $_GET['username'] rather than $username anyway. Also, what are NONE and dmyGi? They're written as constants, but I guess they should be strings? With full error reporting on, you'll get 'use of undefined constant' notices.

is a date() string dmyGi day month year hour minute

none is just a sample far sent by a page which links to it the actual link with proper order number is sent by e-mail to me for order management.

I think that its working now with the $_GET[username]

it has sent some data to the table... just have to define the strings better.... thanks

hope to get more help from you people soon cos im about to start on an online ticket booking for a theater.
