Gallery?

Hi Guys,

I am new to PHP (and this site) - bit of a 'Fugee from Tutorial forums...

I run a site www.skylinesaustralia.com - I have been trying to find a gallery to use which i could run the authentication off the VBulletin db and so that when a user uploads files, it displays who uploaded it and when etc... BUT, i haven't been able to find one that meets my requirements, so i am destined to build one..

Can anybody give me some direction tho? I have to stop myself taking the easy route and using some pre-written code etc, i want this to be entirely my work.... but i have no idea where to start...

As I was taught, do not re-invent the wheel. If someone has done it already, and offers it for free, why shouldn't you use it?

Granted, there is something to be said about writing your own software. But, if it does what you want, go ahead and use it. Save your time for the projects that haven't been done, relase them as open source and keep the programming community moving forward.

Yeah I understand what you mean but at the same time, i need some sort of project to help me to learn and well... theres not much out there that hasn't been programmed... well, that i could do, anyway... 😃
