Display User Info

Hi there.

I know it is easy to display the user's IP (REMOTE_ADDR) but how can i get the user's browser and OS?

I think i will need to do something with the HTTP_USER_AGENT var, but i dont know what. I think it contains all of the info i need.

Does the string have the same layout each time, from each browser? Another thing i noticed was that Win2k shows up as Win NT 5.0, i know 2k is built on NT, but does this mean every NT 5.0 will be a win2k machine? Also, what other things would i need to take into account?

If your server has the browscap.ini file, you could make it easy on yourself and use get_browser().

Thanks - this worked great on my home PC, however my webhosts will not install it :mad:

Perhaps i can get browscap using .htaccess or some other way??

If not, what other options do i have?
