I have a device that has some absurd software that will only recognize COM ports 1,2,3, and 4. The problem is my serial port connected to this device is coming up COM port 5 in the device manager. I need to manually assign this COM port myself so the device will function. Do I have to go into BIOS to accomplish this or is there an easier way?
