Can someone help me find a script???

Hey all! I am looking for a script for a customer and am having trouble finding a good solution. I have looked everywhere!!! Maybe someone can help?

What I need is a shopping cart that can be integrated into the customer's site via urls instead of an "online store" solution. We don't want to have a mySQL backend full of products. It needs to act more like PayPals shopping carts.

So to add a product, all you have to do is make a url for it. Example:

http://www.domain.com/cart.php?description=this is the desc&price=11.95 etc, etc...

This customer does not want to change their site at all, but instead just add "add to cart" links.

As far as payment, they have a credit card machine at their store that they want to manually key the cc info into.

Hope that makes sense. I know there is a solution out there, but I just can't find it! I'm sure someone here knows exactly what I am talking about and will help out!!!

i think the reason you're struggling to find a script for this is that it is a nonsensical way of running a cart - what if someone were to change a link to read

http://www.domain.com/cart.php?description=ferrari&price=0.01

anyone could pay whatever they wanted for anything, there is no order checking, no stock check, nothing.

sorry to rain on your parade, but i don't see that anyone else would want a cart to operate like this.

there are other ways of running a cart without a database...

I realize how stupid this sounds, but it is the way the customer wants it. We have tons of shopping carts available: osCommerce, Interchange, Agora, etc... But they want it a certain way.

Is there at least a shopping cart out there that doesn't create it's own store front? One that is easily intergrated into a current site?

Maybe I can get her to change her mind, but she is set on having her site look the same.

I can speak from experience, osCommerce isn't too bad to modify to make it look like the client's site. I just finished one up a month ago (although we're now waiting for inventory). It was my first time looking at osCommerce and it took about 4 hours to fiddle with the code and design to turn it something that looked integrated with the clients.

Sure, 4 hours is a good chunk of time, but its definitely do-able and 4 hours is a cheap price to pay to prevent savvy shoppers from modifying URL parameters to produce their own "1 cent sales". I'd think the other carts you mentioned can be skinned as well to look like the client's site.

Its a matter of delivering what the client wants, but at the same time making sure its secure (remember, its your butt on the line if anything breaks or there's fraud). Just be careful and play it safe - especially when it comes to shopping carts...

At the very least, i would put an inventory number in the string instead of a price. Then you can have a text file with the inventory number, price, item details data. A simple way around the price-in-the-string security flaw. Then when the link, such as ?item=1235319 is followed your script can read the text file and display the appropriate price and item description.
