simple question

I have just started using mysql with php and im having a bit of a problem here. How do you use data obtained from a mysql database?? You can't just convert it to a string and print it. how do you convert it to a form that is usable in php?

I think this is a basic question but i just can't find the answer anywhere. Hopefully someone can help.

Oh yes you can!

My friend, I don't want to sound like I'm talkind down to you and I don't want to come across as being negative, but I would seriously consider reading a book on the subject.

What I mean by that is that the Internet, although a great source of info, is no where near as useful as a good old fashioned book when it comes to learning PHP.

I could be wrong but it sounds to me like you've probably been trying to learn PHP/MySQL by surfing the Net.

For anyone to attempt to learn PHP/MySQL from surfing the Net is a bold and impressive challenge, but as a learning strategy that type of approach is fundamentally flawed.
