Waiting for the search?

Hi,

I have a question I can't figure out the answer to. Probably because my knowledge of php is fairly limited.

I want to have a quicksearch on my first page. While the search is active (search in a mySQL database) I want a text showing "searching".

When it's done, I want the page to redirect to the site where the result is shown.

WELL: the same principle that is use for this board!

I never done this before but you could do one of these

1.
The page you submit your query to could have HTML meta tag that let you wait a couple of seconds and have your "please wait, while searching ..." and then redirect the query to a second page.

2.
The page you submit the query could have the text and after that create PHP script that uses the fopen() function, I guess that this board uses this technique.

Anyway for small databases I think it is a bit tomuch.
