before i impletment textarea field for users to enter comments i would like to know what i should do to prepare for inserting the comment into a database. all i want is alphanumeric charaters, punctuation and symbals that corespond to the number keys on a keyboard.
If you want to be specific about it, you may want to write a regex. If it's just a matter of stripping tags, [man]strip_tags[/man] would work. You may also want to look at [man]htmlspecialchars[/man] or [man]htmlentities[/man]
i like the htmlentities() function. now would there be any problems storing the result from htmlentities() in mysql.
