Recongnizing Option and Check Boxes

Hello I am wandering what the correct syntax is to recongnize if the check box is checked or not and How would I do this for option boxes as well. I aprecite it very much. It's just I know not every one likes to use drop down list.

It's as simple as this: if you name your checkbox "check1" and you submit the form using POST, then on your next page if $POST['check1'] exists then the checkbox was checked when the form was submitted. any checkbox name not in $POST wasn't checked. HTH
