This is my first mail to this forum.I have heard a lot about this foeum n the high degree of responsiveness of the members of this forum
I undestand the master slave configuration .....but facing certain problems .....
1) In case the master goes down ..n another slave takes over as the master ...How can one ensure that the log report that the slave has is up to date ...ie..there might be a case when the master goes down before the slave could get the latest log report ...
2) How does the client know that its original master is down and is now listening to some other server
3) What is the counterpart of my.cnf in the Windows version of Mysql...I have located it in the hplinux but unable to find the configuration file in the windows
4)Where do i find the script that the client uses to connect to the master ( and have an option to change its original master in case it is down ....to a new slave....)
