Is there any characters which can't be used in the name of a field in MySQL ?
Example:
ath_season.g ath_season.a ath_playoff.g ath_playoff.a
Will these names work ?
Assuming ath_season and ath_playoff are tables, then yes, they will work, but 'g' and 'a' are silly names for fields.
the table name is nhl_athlete
the field names are ath_season.g, etc
