Sessions problem

I wonder if anyone can help me with this one please.

I have a logon page, which then registers the user's info with sessions. Now, I created a page which reaquires that the user logs in. If the user where to type in the URL, without being logged in, he's being told to login. But, what if he follows a URL, with certain options, like:

index.php?page=domainadmin&admin=activate&domainid=8

How would I get him back to that URL, once he's logged in?

that url can be replicated using

$thispage = "$_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']";

//pass that var to the login page
header("Location: login.php?return=$thispage");

then in the login, you use a header to go back to that page

the url in a location header MUST be absolute, not relative (according to the relevant standard). try:
'http://' . $SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] . $SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];

but it will work in apache with just a relative header

ie header("Location: index.php") will work, tho it is a bit lax
