set problem

we made an input form

we defined a mysql table with the field 228

228 is defined as:

set('backup', 'firewall', 'antivirus', 'antispam', 'disaster_recovery', 'geen')

on multiple selections in the form only one (the last selected) value was written to the table

anybody any suggestion on how to solve this problem

you cant store multiple values in a single set field, create tinyint fields for each thing and set them to zero for no or one for yes.

I thougth that was just the difference between enum and set?

enum: one value (yes or no)
set: more values possible

we really want this field to have more than one value if user selects more than one

because after that we'll need to evaluate the input from the user and that will be impossible if the question is spread over several fields in the database
