[Resolved] Left Join??

Can anyone help, I'm currently trying to join a table from a primary key on one table to a foriegn key on the other, therefore I assume I need a left join??

Tables are constructed like this:

Pricing:
ID
week
price
availability

Pricing_noates
ID
price_id
notes

The SQL I am using is this:

SELECT pricing.ID, pricing.week, pricing.price, pricing.availability, pricing_notes.notes FROM pricing LEFT JOIN pricing_notes ON pricing_notes.villa_id WHERE pricing_notes.villa_id = 294

looks to my like you need something like this but You didn't supply too much info about your desired results.

SELECT
pricing.ID,
pricing.week,
pricing.price,
pricing.availability,
pricing_notes.notes
FROM
pricing
LEFT OUTTER JOIN
pricing_notes ON (pricing_notes.villa_id = pricing.ID)
WHERE
pricing_notes.villa_id = 294

Hmm, that is still bringing me back 416 results...

From some reason each record is duplicated 7 times - hence 8 records. I should be returning 52 records (8 x 52 = 416)

Really puzzled.

If I use GROUP BY it returns 52 records as expected?

Any ideas??

Nope problem solved - 8 records are in the pricing notes table relating to the same ID (294)
