How to recompile PHP with Informix Support

Hi guys,

We're running Informix 7.3 with Unix 11.11 OS on a HP-UX box. We have Apache 2.0.43 and PHP 4.2.3 and Informix Client SDK with ESQL/C. The Apache and PHP came bundled with our software. I now want to enable Informix support in PHP but can't figure out (believe it or not, I'm new to PHP) how to recompile the PHP module. I know that I have to add the "--with-informix=$INFORMIXDIR' to the compile script, but I can't seem to find the "configure" file. Can anyone help? Thanks much!

Or...

Let me ask a different question(s)...

Is there a way to regenerate the "configure" file if it does not exist? OR...can I just midify the php.ini file to allow for Informix interaction?

If so, what have you tried? What are the outcomes of those trials?

I've been all through the manual at PHP.net. We haven't tried anything yet because we can't find the "configure" file that's needed for re-compiling PHP. I am trying to figure out how we can either manually modify the current install of PHP or recreate the configure file so we can recompile PHP for use with Informix.

If you can't find configure files do you have the source code of Apache and PHP on the machine?

Does this mean that the source files came with your software or just the binaries. If you do need to get the source files I would encourage getting newer source files for both Apache and PHP.
