Oh My Sockets in Windows

Hi!
I am just a learner in socket pgming in php. I tried using sockets on my windows IIS and also tried with Apache but the error remains common.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: socket()..

As I've googled I found some people talking abt socket.dll but didnt get any solution though. Is there some one who can help out witht this.

I am using PHP 4.3.4 and IIS 5.1 / Apache 1.3.3 on Windows Xp

go to C:\windows and open ur PHP.ini

find this line

;extension=php_sockets.dll

and delete the ; before it and now try the code 🙂

extension=php_sockets.dll

It still says the same parawizard any other ideas?

thats not a socket function

try these

all those seem to work fine after u enable the php_sockets.dll module

that code doesnt like like its gonna work theres no Socket() function on www.php.net maybe try a different code from somewhere let me check

the code you were trying is invalid or old or using some other DLL or written custom functions 🙂 anywaz i gotta go to sleep i have posted 30 times tonight tired if u have any problems trying ur first few things feel free to post here ill be able to help you tommorow i want to learn this too

Yeah, u r rite I am tired too. Anyway socket() function is now replaced with socket_create() and all the socket function are replaced with socket_... I guess socket() ended with php 3.8. I will check out with new ones and let u know. And Congrats U just became a senior member 😃 lol
