Chmod

I've got an authorization application that i'm working on, however since i am not running linux on my comp, and i don't have ftp access to my groups web account at school which is where the app is going, i can't change the permissions as i am instructed to. Does anyone know of any ways to chmod withought having the ftp access. I need to change the directory to chmod 777 and the file to chmod775.

If PHP is allowed, you can just the inbuilt chmod() function. Out of interest, if you don't have FTP (and presumably no console), how are you uploading files?

i can upload the files via web folders, or webdav. Web folders being in IE open then click open as web folder and what not. Its a real pain in the ass

Hmm seems that your best option is "ask the sysadmin" 🙂

I tried the chmod() code as specified in the manual and it gave me a warning that i had an invalid argument, i'm not sure what is wrong with the argument.

chmod("http://dsp.truman.edu/members", 0777);
chmod("http://dsp.truman.edu/memebers/phpaccess103.php", 0775);
