[Resolved] MSSQL Logon Problems

I am unable to logon to a MSSQL 2000 server, I am getting

Warning: mssql_connect(): message: Login failed for user 'root'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. (severity 14) in D:\htdocs\php\db.php on line 16

I am sure that this is based on the server setup, and has something to do with the Windows Authentication, but I am at a loss as to how to change it.

Has anyone got any ideas ?

you don't really need the code for this as it does work on one mssql server - just not this particular one...

Here it is anyway...

Remove and reinstall with mixed mode SQL and Windows based authentication based on a local system account.

Now it all works :-)

When you are using Windows Authentication do you even need to pass your username / password? I'm having 1 devil of a time trying to get this to work and could use some of your help if you would be so kind!
