Adding article search query on site

Web site uses phpMyAdmin 2.5.1; does this mean that when searching the directory phpMyAdmin 2.5.1 does the work?

The article library for the site does not have a search the directory function (or search the library function). Would this work through phpMyAdmin 2.5.1?

If so, what does it take to implement?

My knowledge on this subject reveals me as a neophyte.

phpMyAdmin is nothing more than a front end to your MySQL database. Any scripting you do will have nothing to do with that since it will be hitting the MySQL database directly.
