how to send a file from 1 server to another via ftp

hi all anyone know how to send a existing file (xml file) from 1 server via ftp (or another way) to another sever. i want to hard code the password/username/host/passive on off etc. into the code.

Real easy using the [man]ftp[/man] functions.

host , username and password i put the proper ones in.

but the page comes up blank and no file goes accross. i dunno whats wrong?.

how can i error/debug it.

May want to put the absolute path to the file. Never tried it with a relative path....
Try this to debug also

dosent echo anything so the problem is here .

i gave it an absolute path.

with the host i hav something like this. "test.host.com"
should i have a ip "202.65.987.123"

also i have been told to turn passive off. how do i do this??.

There really isn't a way that I know of. When I had this problem before it was because passive needed to be on. So to answer your previous question, you change it using [man]ftp_pasv[/man]

i used this script and i can see what files are on the remote. server.
