Please help, wierd logical error

This is one of the wierdest errors I've ever got, it must be something really stupid that I'm overlooking...

I'm getting a wrong value when I logically and two numbers.

This are the results I'm getting:

Tmpprod is 1 and products is 1 -> result is 1
Tmpprod is 2 and products is 1 -> result is 0
Tmpprod is 4 and products is 1 -> result is 0
Tmpprod is 8 and products is 1 -> result is 0
Tmpprod is 16 and products is 1 -> result is 1
Tmpprod is 32 and products is 1 -> result is 1
Tmpprod is 64 and products is 1 -> result is 0
Tmpprod is 128 and products is 1 -> result is 1

This is how I'm calculating result:

$result = ($products & $tmpprod[0])

can anyone help??? I'm really lost.

$result = $products + $tmpprod[0];

You're right, that doesn't make sense, unless when you say "products is 1" you really mean "products is 177". 🙂

Presumably there is something else going on in the code that you haven't posted. Bitwise AND works fine here.

No I'm not sure what you mean, I was trying to do a bitwise AND operation between the numbers on the left and the number 1. I wasn't trying to make a bitwise operation between the numbers on the left and the number 177...

How can I make sure that the number 1 is treated as 1, and not 177???

what is the value of $products?

What are you actually hoping to display?

try casting the variables as integers so you are sure that they are what you want them to be.

 ((int)$products & (int)$tmpprod[0])

Not sure this is your problem but it will rule out type problems.
