Directory and File Arrays

Anyone have an idea on how I can generate three arrays of the following data:

1> A listing of all sub-directories, that exist starting from a given directory.

2> A listing of all files in a given directory.

3> A 2D array, with each directory name from #1, as the key, and as the values, a complete listing of all files in the directory, as in #2.

Check out hte attached file. It is a recursive function which generates a 2d tree structure. Sufficent notes are in the file.

It's a project I started working on. What you need to do now is add an 'f' (files) branch to each node, i.e.:

#n= name of folder
#p= parent folder NODE (an integer)
#i= this folders NODE (redundant since it's in the first dimension of the array)
$dir[1][n]=public_html;
$dir[1][p]=''; //no parent for root
$dir[1] = 1; //redundant but for ease of programming
//not developed
$dir[1][f][1]='file1.html';
$dir[1][f][2]='file2.html';
$dir[1][f][3]='file3.html'; //etc. -- files in /public_html

$dir[2][n]=team;
$dir[2][p]=1; //i.e., belongs to root
$dir[2]=2;
//not developed
$dir[1][f][1]='teamfile1.html';
$dir[1][f][2]='teamfile2.html';
$dir[1][f][3]='teamfile3.html'; //etc. -- files in /public_html/team

$dir[3][n]=templates;
$dir[3][p]=1;
$dir[3]=3;
