dynamic sort not working

I am trying to allow my users to sort my files by id, seller, and category. I have tried to do this several times, and I keep getting actual variables in my sort box. ie: if they are searching for the brand name "The Gap" the pull down bar list the variables "ID", "Seller", "Category" and then also has a huge long list with how ever many items show up that have "The Gap" in them.

Does this even make sense? What am I doing wrong?

Sure it does. The script is producing the wrong output. Hence, the user is seeing something unexpected.

You are running a script which is producing invalid output. This is usually a wrong thing to do. I would suggest fixing the script then running it again.

How do I do that exactly? 😕 Could someone post a sample code that I could look at ? Maybe then I could see what I am doing wrong?

In order for a sort query to work on the page, do I have to have a javascript in the head section?
