Images Appearing Inconsistently

Hi,

I have a weird situation where my site inconsistently decides to display, or hide the images I use.

Every time you load the page, it either displays my main logo & other images, or shows the missing image icon...

First thing I checked was whether the image is referenced in the same case as the file name, and that's fine - It's not an improper-case situation.

Then I used the full host name in the image path : ("http://" . $_SERVER['HOST'] . "/Images/abc.jpg"

Then I used the root path definition ("/Images/abc.jpg")

Then I used the non-root path definition ("Images/abc.jpg")

I even moved the image out of the Images directory and referenced it directly in the root of the site.

No joy... One minute the images display, tomorrow they won't.

I'm at my wits end here - I even wondered whether the fact that they're JPG and not GIF is the reason.

Any ideas?

seems to be a server or browser problem, i guess since u do not even use php. which browser/server do u use? are u pages avaiable online so that i can have a look at it?

Hi,

I'm browsing with IE 6 (Version that comes with Windows XP), and its hosted on :
Apache 1.3.29 on a Linux box (not sure which Linux),
Perl version 5.8.1,
PHP version 4.3.3
MySQL version 4.0.15-standard

It is a PHP web site which uses quite a lot of PHP, though my references to the images are not necessarily PHP code...

I don't think it is a browser problem as I had the same effects off various machines. It might be something to do with the Apache server...

It would be better that u use some of javascript.

Using javascript first load all the images in the user system than start your php script.

It would take some time to load all the images but it wount behave imnormal.
