subtract 1 week from date('W')

I'm using this code:

$today = getdate();
if ($day == NULL){
$day = $today['weekday'];}

$thisweek = date('W');
if ($week == NULL){
$week = $thisweek;}
?>

to determine week and day of week.

what I want to do is make
$week=$thisweek minus 1

hehe this calculates exactly one week back from current date.

$lastTime = strtotime("-1 week");
echo date("F, j Y", $lastTime);
?>

You don't learn when people DO everything for you.

All he would've had to do is read the examples and he would've figured it out!

And... he'll know how to do it in the future? If he did it on his own, maybe he'd be able to recall it from memory, cuz he DID it himself and didn't cut and paste from someone else!!!
