stupid question

I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around how I can get this particular issue worked through.

Here's what I'd like to do:

Person enters some data on a form, clicks on submit, based on their input a file is opened and the contents of which are made available via a textarea box. I've tried using system(cat file) but the formatting never comes out correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the easiest way to accomplish this?

thanks cos! The only other trouble I'm having now is that if I tried a define a variable for instance

$edit_domain = readfile("/var/named/$_POST[domain]");
echo "<TEXTAREA NAME=\"comment\" ROWS=25 COLS=100>$edit_domain</TEXTAREA>";

readline is executed and the file is filled in before the text area for some reason. Its weird and thats whats been giving me problems....

Nevermind got it! I needed to read the function manual 😉 I need to remember to do that more often then rushing over here and asking idiotic questions. Thanks again cos
